From there you help the car buyer select a vehicle for their needs and demonstrate the features and benefits on that vehicle. If the customer like the car so far you will then take them for a test drive, after all no one is going to buy a car unless they know how it rides and performs.

The next step would be working out the details of the vehicle purchase. This would include negotiating price and payments if they are going to be financing their new car. If the customer has a Trade-In car the dealership will appraise the trade in car and make their offer. Hopefully the numbers work out to make both parties happy and all that is left is the paperwork. Now does that sound like the process of selling a car involves any sneaky car sales techniques? Of course not, because it’s a business transaction just like any other major purchase. It is a natural and logical process that discloses all the information that is required for the car buyer to make a buying decision.

I may have made it sound a little nicer and more pleasant than it really is, but the process is the same. The car sales techniques that successful salesman use to earn a very good living is more about the words they use and when they use them. They also are very good at reading your body language and using their form of gestures, actions and expressions. The car buying process for most people is one that involves emotion more than it does logic.

Emotion is a very strong factor in influencing the car buyer when it comes to buying an automobile and the professional car salesman knows that and uses that to their advantage. Much like any profession the sales person has learned what stirs the emotions of their customer and focuses on that particular area. Every customer is different and the car sales techniques that the professional uses are very different for each car buyer. When there is no emotion of any kind the purchase of an automobile is almost exactly as described above. However emotion is a part of everyone whether they are buying a car or anything else and the good car salesman makes the best of the tools they have to make a deal.
